Convent of the Capuchins (1900) – Skeletons of the Friars

Skeletons of Friars, creepily preserved. They are standing in rows wearing robes. The Friars most likely died some time in the 17th Century.

Also, check out an illustration from another The Leery post – A City of The Dead – An Image of Macabre(1896). Likely, the illustration is inspired by the skeletons in the photo.

Both images are linked to the ‘Catacombe dei Cappuccini‘ – burial catacombs in Palermo Sicily.

Selling Cupids – Artwork of People Trafficking Cherubs

Buying love is unethical, especially when it involves abusing a living thing. How much would you pay for a Cupid?

Cherubs are those cute, chubby, winged babies from art. They are synonymous with Cupid. As we all know, Cupid can make people fall in love with an arrow. Thus, to own a Cupid, is to own anyone’s heart!

1st Century(1 to 100 AD) – Anonymous

This is the earliest known art piece on this topic. The artist is unknown. It isn’t in great condition(or large size), but it is over a thousand years old!
